Final Blog!

I really enjoyed the fun that I had in 5th grade Science. Mrs. Lacrosse is very informational and funny. I loved the lessons that she shared with us and I wish I could spend more time in here class. What I liked the most out of the year was that I won an arm wrestling match against Mrs. Lacrosse and she gave me full credit for my late homework. I wish Mrs. Lacrosse a safe and happy Summer break. Thank you!

I predicted that the balloon with the 15 ml bottle with have the biggest balloon. During the investigation we used balloons and ml containers. It turned out the 10ml beaker had the biggest chemical reaction and the biggest balloon.the variable that I could change the amount of water that is in the beaker.

I had a really fun time while doing the IDL's. I chose the LEGO Mindstorms project because I like working with LEGO's. I think the project went rough because none off our tests worked really well. A success that we had was that we got the robot built before the last day of building. A struggle that we had was that the robot programming was pretty complicated. I learned that the bot moves slower then you think and building the bot is tricky because there are complicated pieces. I could pay more attention to the programming process differently next time.

5 bonus points.

Matter is made up of atoms. The 3 states of matter are solid, liquid, and gas. Metal is a better conductor than wood and wood is a better insulator than metal. A water molecule is made up of 2 hydrogen atoms and 1 oxygen atom. The nucleus is made of protons. Elements are things that are only made up of 1 atom. Malleability means you can shape metal to make other things.

ibook unit.

The How we Explore Energy ibook was very informational and entertaining and I learned a lot. I learned that reflection is when light bounces if something like a mirror and refraction is when the light is bending. I also learned that wind energy can be made using wind turbines. A few things that I enjoyed the most were the little mini-games, the videos and the information in the text. I think the ibook was very well done.
